Microsoft creates ‘Duet’ for Dynamics
Mar 15th, 2007 by Satha
At Convergence Microsoft announced a new Office client known as “ Microsoft Dynamics Client for Office and Share-point”.
This is a new lite-weight licensing tool and it is Microsoft’s first major initiative into “introducing ERP” into the traditional “office customer”. In a sense those who predicted that it was coming were proven right again. And the vendor is of course capturing and capitalising on the large “office market” it already has… introducing a new product at a very affordable price point.
For the customer: is this something that will add business value - no question about this. The cost of the business solution is getting cheaper and the solution is getting more accessible to a wider user group within the business… all this used in the right way has to result in increased business productivity and bottom line results.
So the question: Duet vs Dynamics Client for Office and Share-point???
Does this mean the business solution market is heading towards a domination by a fewer vendors??
Or
Should we be looking out for more “Duet” or “Dynamics for Client for Office” type solutions??
